FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on therapy that works with the whole person. It aims to support the nervous system, encourage the body's natural self-regulating processes, reduce stress, promote relaxation, and restore a sense of balance and vitality.
CST uses a very gentle touch and is suitable for people of all ages, including babies, children, adults and the elderly. It aims at supporting the balance of body, mind and spirit through non-invasive light touch.
Whilst most people seek CST for a specific issue, for many it’s a form of self-care, or a way to support the release of the stresses of everyday life and promote relaxation.
No. You will never be asked to disclose anything more than you feel comfortable with. While thoughts, memories, or emotions may arise during a session, there is no expectation to discuss them. The session is intended to provide a safe and supportive space, and you are always free to share only what feels right for you, and it's okay
You can wear anything you like! Loose, comfortable clothing that allows you to relax fully, such as a tracksuit or leggings are fine. CST is performed fully clothed.
Each treatment is specifically tailored to you and how your body presents itself on the day. Most people experience deep relaxation, some fall asleep. You might feel some tingling in your limbs, twitches, a change in temperature. Distant memories or emotions may come to the surface. However, each treatment is different to the previous one.
Each treatment is different, and how you integrate after the session depends on what the treatment has brought up for you. It’s common to feel very relaxed, to sleep deeply, to feel more focused, but there may also be an emotional release or some restlessness. It’s not unusual for the effects of CST to carry on for 24-48 hours.
There’s no one-size-fits all to CST, every person is unique. Every person responds differently, and the number of sessions varies depending on your individual circumstances and goals. Some people notice changes after a single session, while others benefit from a series of treatments. Where appropriate, I may suggest a course of 3–4 sessions to allow the effects of treatment to build over time.
No. Craniosacral Therapy is a complementary therapy and is not intended to replace medical diagnosis, advice, or treatment. If you have concerns about your health, you should consult your GP or other qualified healthcare professional.
